The initial cost of construction was Rs. 2,17,725 (for 23 feet). The reason for the selection of the site was that it had perennial streams. The main sources of supply are Siruvani, Muthikkulam Falls, Gobiaru, Solaiyaru, Pattiyaru, and Veeraru, and the area below Pambaru Falls was identified for construction.
