Suzuki Alto has cherished a strong market share in emerging countries principally due to its affordable price and fuel economy. It was presented in Pakistan in 1979 and promptly became admired. originally known as Suzuki FX, it was the most economical car in the market and arose with three engine configurations: 539cc T5B, 543cc F5A, & 796cc F8B.

The second generation Alto was presented in 1984, five years later the first one. It highlighted some upgrades and came with three new-fangled transmissions:

• 4/5 Speed Manual
• 2 Speed Automatic
• 3 Speed Automatic.

The base 539cc T5B engine was eliminated, and Alto presented numerous improvements, which directed it to earn the insignia of being the most powerful Kei-car of its time with 64Hp.

The third-generation Suzuki Alto was presented in 1988. This generation contained some key changes, like; a sliding door in the 4-seater Alto.

The fourth-generation Suzuki Alto was launched in the market in 1994. The sliding door was dropped in this generation, but the exterior design was the same. The original 543cc engine option was also dropped. In 1995, Suzuki launched Alto SV. It was labeled as the extraordinary fuel economy model and comprised power steering, an air conditioner, ABS, and an audio system.

The fifth-generation Suzuki Alto was launched in 1998. It had an appealing design. This generation had big dimensions than the last generations and had a lot of weight. This generation was shaped all the way till 2012 when due to some mechanical reasons, the company had to discontinue production.

the 6th generation Alto was a failure. Its design was boxy and edgy and not at all captivating. it came with some new features such as a rear camera, UV glass panel, infotainment system along with the standard equipment, etc.

The 7th generation Suzuki Alto made compensations with a highly upgraded design. The new exterior was housed a lot of modern features such as eco mode and traction control.

The 8th generation Suzuki Alto was launched in 2014. It came with a retro-style design. It has upgraded features such as push-start technology, keyless entry, traction control, seven airbags, vehicle stability control, collision alert, and retractable side mirrors. this car set a new standard with its excellent fuel consumption of 37 km/l.
