United Motors Pakistan has introduced a mid-sized 1000cc hatchback, the United Alpha. Exposed on the 2nd of January, the united alpha will be Pakistan’s first car of 2021. Followed by the promotion event in Lahore, locally accumulated CKD units will go on sale in the local auto market. United Motors might also introduce an automatic variant of the Alpha model shortly.

United Alpha partakes a history with Pakistan. In 2005, Chery Automobiles Co. of China arrived in the Pakistan in the market along with their famed family car, the Chery QQ. The 800cc car had a dependable build quality and a lot of auspicious features. Conversely, at that moment, Suzuki Mehran and Daihatsu Cuore were the champions of local hatchbacks. So, this Chinese car could not compete with the Big 3, Suzuki, Honda, and Toyota, and flopped in the local market. Now, Chery QQ is planning a comeback in Pakistan with a new name, a new face, and a new strategy. One difference in the United Alpha launch is that United Motors is this car’s sole owner and supplier. Chery Automobiles Co. is no longer part of this debut.
